The Unseen Architecture

The topic of the 2025 edition of the Architecture at the Edge Festival is centred on the theme of the Unseen. To make visible the often invisible factors that shape space. The 2026 program will pick up on that theme and would like to spotlight architecture that is inspired by or is part of our daily lives by presenting those imperceptible or insignificant little things that surround us, make up our vital environment and influence our way of life in a conscious or subconscious manner. We are also interested in work that rethinks the relationship between architecture and infrastructure—challenging standard assumptions and advocating for new models of inhabitation that harmonize with natural systems, while generating fresh aesthetic and experiential value. This includes investigations into the ethical and technical entanglements of our interconnected world.
