Kosovo Architecture Festival _ PristinAI
With its theme "Certain Uncertainties" KAF wanted to focus on how our related professions, the "makers" of our built environment: architects, designers, engineers & artists, could contribute in a positive way to make our cities better and our futures more livable. From an amazing pool of research fellows of LINA Platform, KAF has carefully selected 2 individuals and a collective to present their work in front of the local audience in Kosovo, an exhibition, and in collaboration with the local city officials hold two workshops.
Damiano Cerrone / SPIN Unit / UrbanistAI
Damiano Cerrone is an urbanist, researcher and educator. He founded SPIN Unit, an urban research and innovation practice and UrbanistAI, a participatory design platform to reimagine the future of our cities. Cerrone is affiliated with and teaches at several international academic institutions. His practice focuses on harnessing the power of collective intelligence to generate new values based on local assets. His academic research focuses on the relationships between city form and wellbeing.
PristinAI
Reimagining the natural landscape of the city with UrbanistAI.
In today's urban landscapes, cities face pressing challenges: lack of biodiversity in public spaces and increasing heat island effects. However, we believe that human creativity combined with technology has the power to transform our cities into vibrant and sustainable environments. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore infinite new scenarios to renature central urban spaces and mitigate the heath island effect. By leveraging the innovative UrbanistAI platform, we will collectively reimagine and redesign the green areas of Pristina, infusing them with life and diversity.
In the workshop we will leverage the power of UrbanistAI to generate countless scenarios and possibilities. Through the use of prompt engineering techniques, we can guide generative AI models to create designs that foster biodiversity, sustainability, and the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.
During this workshop, we will delve into the essentials of generative AI and its applications in urban planning and design. Moreover, we recognize the importance of collaboration and collective creativity. As a diverse group of participants, each with unique perspectives, we will embark on a collective journey to select several spaces in Pristina that will serve as our canvas for transformation.
In the design phase, we will work collaboratively, utilizing the power of UrbanistAI to generate innovative solutions. Your creativity, combined with the generative capabilities of AI, will yield a multitude of scenarios, each contributing to the revitalization of the green areas of Pristina. We will engage in lively discussions, offer constructive feedback, and refine our designs, fostering an environment where ideas can flourish.
T ogether, we will reimagine the green areas of Pristina, fostering a collaborative environment where technology and human creativity merge to shape a sustainable and vibrant urban landscape.
WORKSHOP STRUCTURE PART 1 - Introduction
AI Essentials:
