Färgfabriken selected as new LINA Member

Färgfabriken selected as new LINA Member
18 May 2026

Starting 1 June 2026, the Swedish cultural centre, triennial and non-profit foundation Färgfabriken will be joining LINA’s community of member organisations.

Selected from among 79 cultural organisations from across Europe, Färgfabriken received unanimous support among shortlisted candidates. The Governing Board who headed the selection process underlined:

Färgfabriken is deeply aligned with LINA’s values of sustainability, interdisciplinary, collaboration and mentorship. These values are grounded in Färgfabriken’s 30 years of experience of bringing together art, architecture and urban development.

The two-tier selection process was first carried out by representatives of full LINA Members, and in its second phase, through interviews with three shortlisted candidates by Governing Board members Josephine Michau, Irhana Šehović, Blaithin Quinn, Elena Falomo and Karin Oberhuber, along with Head of Platform Matevž Čelik. In their report, they further elaborated:

Färgfabriken’s visionary yet pragmatic approach, which is grounded in care, experimentation and sustainability, is a perfect fit for LINA. It has the potential to drive transformation and enhance the platform’s ability to achieve its goals.

The full list of applicants is available in the report document. The shortlisted candidates were Stiftelsen Färgfabriken (Stockholm, Sweden), Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (Rotterdam, Netherlands), and KÉK – Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre (Budapest, Hungary).

The selection process highlighted the high quality and diversity of applications, reflecting the vibrant and dynamic nature of the European architectural and cultural landscape. While all three finalists presented compelling opportunities for LINA, the Governing Board’s decision was guided by a strict adherence to the evaluation criteria and a careful analysis of how each candidate’s proposed contributions would translate into practice.

Director Anna-Karin Wulgué joined the LINA General Assembly in Ljubljana in April to present the organisation and its vision in supporting emerging creatives in the LINA Architecture Programme. Färgfabriken will bring fresh perspectives, innovative approaches, and a strong commitment to collaboration, further strengthening LINA’s mission to foster regenerative and inclusive spatial practices across Europe.

LINA extends its sincere gratitude to all applicants for their dedication and contributions. We remain committed to engaging with all candidates—including those not selected for full membership—through alternative forms of collaboration, ensuring that the rich exchange of ideas and practices continues to thrive within the LINA community.
