“STOP DRAWING: ARCHITECTURE BEYOND REPRESENTATION” EXHIBITION IN MAXXI ROME
The exhibition Stop Drawing: Architecture Beyond Representation, curated by Pippo Ciorra at MAXXI in Rome (April 18–September 21, 2025), critically explores the shifting modalities of architectural representation. It traces the decline of traditional drawing as the primary medium of expression, examining how digital simulations, artistic interventions, and participatory practices have redefined the field. The exhibition assembles a diverse selection of works from architects and artists such as Carlo Scarpa, Aldo Rossi, Gordon Matta-Clark, Frank Gehry, and Philippe Rahm, utilizing media including collage, video, performance, and textiles. Embedded within this curatorial framework, the films produced by the 2025 LINA Fellows are exhibited in Gallery 3, underscoring the evolving narrative strategies through which architecture is conceived, experienced, and communicated today.
