IAF Summer School

IAF Summer School
9 — 17 May 2025

Irish Architecture Foundation, Dublin, Ireland

The Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) is seeking emerging professionals with radical ideas, projects or practices to apply via the LINA Open Call to lead workshops at the IAF Summer School in Dublin, Ireland, in May 2025.

We are inviting proposals from Europe-based emerging professionals working in areas such as architecture, the built environment, and critical spatial practice, to lead experimental and participatory workshops that are open to a wider audience as well as to other emerging practitioners. Applicants are free to propose diverse topics, methods and formats to engage participants.

Skills and experience: Ideal applicants will have experience of teaching, facilitation, and/or public engagement in the areas of architecture, critical spatial practice and the built environment. Creative and cross-disciplinary approaches are welcome!

Format: The IAF Summer School will consist of workshops and talks over 2 weekends in May 2025. We will commission at least 2 separate applicants / collectives to lead a 1-2 day workshop each in Dublin. This is an example of a previous IAF Summer School in May 2023, with LINA Fellows: https://architecturefoundation.ie/news/summer-school-2023/

Benefits: Successful applicants will be awarded a fee (for preparation and facilitation) plus travel and accommodation expenses (for 2-3 days in Dublin), and may also be selected for the 2024/25 cohort of LINA Fellows.

How to apply: Those interested must apply through the central LINA Open Call by the specified closing date. Please select 'Irish Architecture Foundation' and 'Summer School' from the dropdown menus on the LINA application form.

Note: Since the purpose of LINA is to network and collaborate across Europe, we will prioritise applicants based in European countries other than Ireland. Irish applicants are encouraged to apply to work with LINA member organisations in other countries instead. In addition, as LINA supports projects and proposals that address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development in architecture, we will also prioritise this when shortlisting applications.

Good luck with your application!
